Lemons are wonderful fruits that not only have a flavour that is omnipresent, but also multiple positive features for your health. They contain Vitamin A and C, pectin fibre, calcium, potassium and some iron. The low pH of lemon juice makes it antibacterial.
Limes, a family member or lemon, have a high potassium content and lime-water juice helps people with heart problems. Both citrus fruits have high antioxidants and anti-cancer properties and help to fight all kinds of diseases.
Use half a lemon in a glass of hot water with a bit of honey and drink before your daily breakfast to eliminate toxins from your system. This will boost your liver for the day!

- Flavour: sour
- Temperature: cold
- Effects: Cools heat in your body, i.e. fever
- Effects: Holds juice in your body, it is astringent
- Target organs: Liver, Stomach, Lungs
